How do we protect your stories?

Hundreds of writers use LeeBoom to share their stories and ideas with the world. These storytellers, who spend time designing and polishing their works, depend not only on the support of the global community, but also on the security measures we've put in place to protect their content. We are deeply committed to protecting the work of writers both on and off the site. Below is a list of the measures currently in effect. We are continually exploring ways to improve our approach to ensuring the safety and security of the wonderful LeeBoom community.

On the platform, we:

  • We accept and processofficial DMCA takedown requestsof the copyright holders.

  • We accept and process verified reports of copyright infringement of known published works (for example, the Harry Potter series).

Off the shelf, we:

  • We take advantage of available technology, policy, and legal solutions to prevent content pirates from gaining access to stories on the platform.

Unfortunately, the Internet makes it impossible to completely prevent copyright infringement. However, it is automatically protected by copyright law the moment you post your original work in a fixed format. You don't have to register your work with the copyright office for it to be protected by law, although it can be helpful. As the copyright owner of your original work, you have the right to submit a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown request to any website where you find your work is being infringed.
